Meet Teigan (Psychologist)

When Teigan was eight years old, she read Harriet the Spy. While most people remember Harriet, Teigan became fascinated by Harriet's psychologist—and from that moment on, she knew exactly what she wanted to do.

Today, Teigan is a psychologist and the founder of Playology, with over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents and families. She is passionate about childhood development, wellbeing and inclusion, and particularly loves helping families make sense of what's happening beneath the surface. For Teigan, good therapy isn't about handing over another list of strategies—it's about building a deeper understanding of the child and finding practical ways forward that make sense for them and their family.

Parents often tell Teigan they leave sessions feeling lighter. She sees parents as the experts on their own children and believes therapy works best when it is collaborative rather than prescriptive. She wants families to feel heard, understood and more confident about what comes next.

Alongside her clinical work, Teigan has provided training, consultancy and senior leadership across the not-for-profit, education, disability and healthcare sectors. She is also a Psychology Board Approved Supervisor and enjoys helping other clinicians develop their confidence, clinical thinking and professional practice.

Teigan is an avid reader and still credits Harriet the Spy with inspiring her career. She loves travelling—particularly cruises and all-inclusive resorts to reduce the mental load on holidays—and can usually be found spending time with her family or searching for her next great book recommendation.
