Rachael believes children thrive when the people around them understand them. Rather than focusing on changing the child, she enjoys working alongside families and educators to better understand how a child experiences the world and what supports will help them participate with confidence in everyday life.
As an Occupational Therapist, Rachael especially enjoys supporting neurodivergent children and young people, with particular interests in sensory processing, play development, emotional regulation and building independence in everyday activities. She is passionate about helping families make sense of how sensory processing influences a child's daily life, while also supporting educators to create environments where children feel safe, included and able to succeed.
Families often appreciate Rachael's supportive and practical approach. She knows therapy is rarely a quick fix, and believes meaningful progress comes from working together over time. Her sessions are engaging, strengths-based and tailored to each child, while ensuring parents and educators feel equally supported with practical ideas they can use well beyond the therapy room.
"Therapy isn't about 'fixing' your child. It's about helping them build the skills, confidence and supports they need to participate in everyday life in ways that work for them."
Outside of Playology, Rachael enjoys slowing down and spending quality time with her family, whether that's cooking a favourite meal, relaxing at home or planning her next travel adventure. She's also kept on her toes by her playful toy cavoodle, who is always happy to remind her when it's time for a walk.
