Mel loves partnering with families from the very beginning of their therapy journey. She believes the best outcomes happen when children feel safe, parents feel confident, and everyone is working towards the same goals together.
As a Speech Pathologist, Mel especially enjoys supporting young children and their families through early intervention, with particular interests in communication development, feeding and orofacial myology. She also loves facilitating group programs and helping children build skills through meaningful, engaging experiences. Alongside her warm, family-centred approach, Mel has a genuine love of learning and is always looking for opportunities to further develop her knowledge so she can provide the best support possible.
Families often describe Mel as approachable, kind and easy to talk to. Her sessions are playful, collaborative and tailored to each child, while also giving parents practical tools and strategies they can confidently use at home. She knows therapy doesn't begin and end in the clinic, and loves celebrating the progress families make together along the way.
"You're an important part of your child's therapy journey. My role is to support and guide you, so together we can help your child build skills that carry over into everyday life."
If there's one thing to know about Mel, it's that she absolutely loves food and is always keen to try somewhere new. Outside of work you'll often find her exploring Melbourne's restaurants, practising yoga, learning pickleball or golf, heading to comedy shows or musicals, or tackling an escape room with friends.
