Charlene has always been fascinated by how children make sense of the world around them. She loves getting to know each child's unique way of thinking, feeling and connecting, and believes that even small moments of understanding can make a lasting difference to a child's confidence and emotional wellbeing.
Charlene especially enjoys supporting children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, social difficulties and self-esteem concerns. She takes a neuroaffirming, culturally responsive approach to therapy, working closely with children, families and other important people in their lives to build practical skills that feel meaningful beyond the therapy room.
Families often appreciate Charlene's genuine and collaborative style. Her sessions are warm, engaging and tailored to each child, blending play, creativity and evidence-based approaches to build emotional awareness, flexible thinking and confidence. Charlene loves that no two therapy sessions are ever the same, and believes some of the best learning happens when children feel safe enough to simply be themselves.
"Therapy isn't something we do to children—it's something we do with them. Building a genuine relationship is where meaningful progress begins."
Charlene describes herself as a bit of a homebody and is happiest spending a cosy afternoon binge-watching a great series or experimenting in the kitchen with a new baking recipe. When Melbourne turns on the sunshine, you'll often find her at the beach soaking up the warmth and enjoying a little people-watching. She also dreams of one day taking an Antarctica cruise—despite being almost certain her motion sickness will make the journey interesting! At home, she's kept entertained by her cheeky husky, who has perfected the art of convincing Charlene that he definitely deserves another cuddle (and probably another treat).
