Amy believes children learn best when they feel safe, connected and understood. She loves taking the time to get to know each child as an individual, building trusting relationships that allow them to develop new skills while feeling confident enough to be themselves.
As an Occupational Therapist, Amy especially enjoys supporting children and their families, with interests in sensory processing and regulation, fine motor development, and helping children build independence in everyday activities. She is passionate about early intervention and loves supporting children through important transitions, whether that's starting kindergarten, beginning school or navigating the move to high school.
Families often appreciate Amy's gentle, calm approach. Her sessions are playful, child-led and built around each child's interests, while gently introducing opportunities to learn and grow. Amy believes the best outcomes come from working together, and enjoys partnering with parents, teachers and other important people in a child's life so strategies can continue well beyond the therapy room.
"I'm not a compliance-based therapist. My priority is helping children feel safe, regulated and ready to learn, because that's when the most meaningful progress happens."
You'll usually find Amy outdoors—walking, hiking or camping—or curled up with a fantasy novel. She also loves arts and crafts, board games and gaming, and dreams of one day living on a larger property where she can care for lots of rescue animals. At home she's currently kept company by Willow, her much-loved lop-eared rabbit.
