Our occupational therapy (OT) team help children to do the everyday things that they want or need to do. This can include (but is not limited to):

  • Sensory regulation and processing
  • Fine motor
  • Self-care
  • Moving around easier

Therapy Assistant

Our team offer a range of diagnostic and functional assessments. Common diagnostic assessments include:

  • autism
  • ADHD
  • anxiety, including selective mutism
  • cognitive and learning difficulties
  • sensory processing

Therapy Assistant

Therapy Assistants work in a child’s natural environment (e.g. home, school, childcare), to embed the strategies from therapy sessions into their daily life.

  • Supported, high intensity practice of clinical strategies
  • Cost effective
  • Strengthen the bridge between a child’s everyday life and formal therapy sessions

Please ensure you are aware of fees prior to booking. 


Medicare

Medicare rebates may be available (check with your GP or specialist). The full session fee is required upfront, and families can claim the rebate directly from Medicare. 

Please note, we are not a bulk billing clinic.


NDIS

NDIS funding can be used for self- and plan- managed NDIS clients.

Provisional Psychologist Sessions

We offer sessions with our Provisional Psychologists at a reduced rate. These appointments are not eligible for Medicare rebates.

Psychology Assessments

Assessments are carried out over a number of sessions. Prices are inclusive of all assessment sessions and can either be purchased online as a pre-paid package, or paid in installments as you go. A comprehensive report with recommendations is included with all assessments, which will be provided to the client upon receipt of final payment installment.

Autism Spectrum Disorder

1248.00 to 1640.00

Includes 4 sessions:

  1. Parent/carer session for developmental history. Can be via telehealth or in clinic. Questionnaires will be sent to family and educational setting (if applicable).
  2. Session with child focused on observation of Autism traits using the ADOS-2. A carer may be required to stay with younger children.
  3. Session with child focused on differential diagnosis (usually a cognitive assessment). Carers are not required to remain in room for session.
  4. Feedback with parent/carer. 

ADHD

936.00 to 1230.00

Includes 3 sessions:

  1. Parent/carer session for developmental history. Can be via telehealth or in clinic. Questionnaires will be sent to family and school/kinder/childcare. A copy of the child's school reports will need to be provided at this session.
  2. Session with child. Will usually involved a cognitive assessment, but this may differ depending on the presenting concerns.
  3. Feedback session with parent/carer.

Cognitive (IQ) Assessment

936.00 to 1230.00

Includes 3 sessions:

  1. Parent/carer session for developmental history. Can be via telehealth or in clinic. Questionnaires will be sent to family and school. A copy of the child's school reports will need to be provided at this session.
  2. Cognitive assessment (WPPSI-IV or the WISC-V, depending on client's age). 
  3. Feedback session with parent/carer.

Comprehensive Learning Assessment (Learning Disabilities)

1404.00 to 1845.00

Includes 4 sessions:

  1. Parent/carer session for developmental history. Can be via telehealth or in clinic. Questionnaires will be sent to family and school. A copy of the child's school reports will need to be provided at this session.
  2. Cognitive assessment (WPPSI-IV or the WISC-V, depending on client's age). 
  3. Learning assessment (WIAT-III)
  4. Feedback session with parent/carer. Children are not required to attend, although we encourage older children/adolescents to attend appointment to share results.


Therapy Assistant Services

Therapy Assistants work in a child’s natural environment (e.g. home, school, childcare), to embed the strategies from therapy sessions into their daily life.

Standard Session

225.00

Includes travel within 30 miutes of the clinic, 2.5 hours direct with child, plus a further 30 minutes of notes, planning and a review of the session by your child’s psychologist.

Set-Up Fee

615.00

Includes initial joint session with therapist, therapy assistant and family, plus development of formal written therapy assistant plan including goals and strategies.

Playology is not a bulk-billing clinic. Medicare rebates may be available (please speak with your GP, Paediatrician or Psychologist to check eligibility). NDIS funding can be used for self- and plan- managed NDIS clients.
